About Pastor Jim…
Pastor Jim is the founding and senior pastor of Twin Rivers Community Church and is ordained in the Conservative Congregation Christian Conference (CCCC), or as he likes to call it, the evangelical branch of the congregational church.
He has a BA in Psychology from Gordon College and a Masters of Divinity from Gordon Conwell Theological Seminary. The first half of this degree was completed at Fuller Theological Seminary and the completion was at Gordon Conwell.
Pastor Jim spent his seminary years, as well as a couple of years after seminary, working in the established church. During those years he discovered his passion for church planting. For about a year, he along with his wife and two others, studied the Bible and attended seminars related to church planting and the role of the church. Pastor Jim also received training in Illinois on church planting. On September 7, 1997, Pastor Jim and his team planted Twin Rivers Community Church in a friend’s garage in Attleboro.
Pastor Jim has been married to his beautiful bride, Kristin, for 24 years. Kristin is a Program Manager in Research and Development for Covidien. She also plays a vital part in the functioning and running of Twin Rivers as an elder.
Jim and Kristin have three boys: CJ is 18 and starting his career as a Personal Care Attendant; Caleb is 16 and taking after his dad and becoming a mid-distance runner; Jacob (Jake) is 13 and has a brilliant mind for computers.
In the Pastor’s own words…
Since we planted TRCC, many things have changed but one thing has been constant: the desire for evangelism and being in the community. Our growth has been 97% from conversion. We don’t do church transfer or church hopping. The people at TRCC have a passion to let the world know about Christ. They have a passion to be involved in the community and share Christ. And they have a passion to act as a warm family, a body of believers that love God and each other. That will always continue.
At one time I was frustrated that the church wasn’t growing as fast as I hoped and God spoke to me. He said, “I thought you were there to expand My Kingdom, not grow a church?” As God had me reflect on the years we have been in existence, I realized we have been part of 100’s of people coming to know the Lord as their personal Savior. Some are now at other churches but God blessed us by letting us be involved in their conversions.
If you are looking for a church that is looking to expand the Kingdom of God instead of growing a church, come on in! If you are interested in what that looks like, come on in! If being creative and inventive with getting the message of Christ out, come on in! If desiring to know the Lord Jesus in a way that is very relevant and real in your life, come on in!
May God bless you!
